The Urdu language
An
interesting fact about Urdu:
Urdu and Hindi are virtually the same when spoken
and are mutually intelligible to speakers of either
language. However they use different scripts so
a Hindi speaker might not be able to read an Urdu
document.

Our Urdu linguists
As well as being qualified and tested linguists all our Urdu translators
and interpreters sign up to our code of conduct which governs expected
quality levels and ensures confidentiality. In addition, our database
keeps track of all their specialist areas so we can find exactly the
right person for your assignment.
Urdu translation
For Urdu translations, Geo works with qualified, expert translators.
All our Urdu translators are professionals translating into their
mother tongue. Normally they will live in the country where the target
language is spoken so that they remain up to speed with the language
and culture. The only time this doesn't work is if the translator
is required to have knowledge about a linguistic community outside
the target culture... for instance if our Urdu translator who is based
in the target country might not have the necessary understanding or
terminology to translate a document for the Urdu community in the
UK dealing with UK bodies and concepts..e.g. the Financial Ombudsman
or the NHS. In these instances Geo works with qualified Urdu translators
in the UK to use the correct, established terminology. See our translation section for more information on Urdu translation or
have a look at our industries
section. If you need help with back translation from Urdu, then
we also have a great database of validated, high quality translators
to meet your needs.
Urdu interpreting
Geo has an extensive database of great people for Urdu interpreting.
Our Urdu interpreters are selected for their expertise, knowledge
of specialist areas, friendly professional attitude and consistently
good feedback. See our interpreting section for more information on Urdu interpreting
or have a look at our industries
section.
Urdu typesetting
Typesetting in different languages can be tricky if you don't know
what you're doing. Hyphenation rules change. Fonts sometimes aren't
supported in some design packages. Some languages read left to right
(like English), others (like Arabic) read right to left. Urdu is no
different, but you can rest assured that we can help you. See our typesetting
section for more information on Urdu typesetting or have a look
at our industries
section.
Urdu media services
Geo can even offer Urdu voice-overs, Urdu dubbing, Urdu audio and
video recording s and Urdu subtitling. See our media
services section for more information or have a look at our industries
section.
