Sango is an African-based rather than European-based Creole language which is rather unusual.

Profile

Sango is the main language of the Central African Republic.

It has been estimated that roughly half of Sango vocabulary originated from French. Although Sango now has other influences, the legacy remains and can be heard in standard phrases such as “Balao Monsieur” (Hello Sir!).
