Legal interpreting services

From courtrooms to client meetings—interpreting you can rely on.

Legal matters demand clarity. Whether you’re handling a deposition, arbitration, asylum hearing or solicitor–client meeting, we’ll match you with a qualified legal interpreter who understands both the language and the law.

In person or remote. One-to-one or multi-party. We provide interpreting services that support your legal process at every step—accurate, impartial, and on time.

Legal expertise, in every language

Our interpreters aren’t just fluent—they’re trained in legal terminology, familiar with jurisdictional differences, and experienced in the courtroom. From cross-border contract negotiations to high-stakes witness testimony, we ensure that everyone involved is heard and understood.

Choose the right interpreting style

We offer a range of interpreting services for legal professionals, courts, firms, and public bodies:

Consecutive interpreting
The interpreter speaks after the speaker pauses. Best for solicitor–client meetings, interviews, depositions, and negotiations.

Simultaneous interpreting
Real-time interpreting for hearings, conferences, and multilingual legal events. Delivered on-site or remotely with specialist equipment.

Whispered interpreting (chuchotage)
Discreet, real-time interpreting for one or two participants. Ideal for court observers or smaller legal proceedings.

Remote legal interpreting
Available via secure video or phone, suitable for case reviews, consultations, and international collaboration.

Practical support, every step of the way

We help you plan and deliver interpreting sessions with minimal stress and maximum confidence. Need assistance with tech setup? Multilingual captioning? Session recordings? We’ll advise on the best approach and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can Geo Language Services provide multi-party legal interpreting services?

Yes. We provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting for multi-party legal scenarios — multi-jurisdiction arbitrations, mediations with parties in different languages, multilingual depositions, witness examinations and contract negotiations with translators or counsel on both sides. We can scale interpreter teams to the number of language pairs and breakout rooms required.

  • Are remote legal interpreting services available?

Yes. We provide remote legal interpreting over the phone (OPI), via video remote interpreting (VRI) and through major web conferencing and dedicated remote-interpreting platforms. Mode is recommended based on the proceeding type, confidentiality requirements, number of parties and language pairs — in-person is still the right choice for some hearings and depositions, but remote is now standard for many.

  • What types of legal interpreting can Geo Language Services help with?

Court hearings, depositions and witness examinations, arbitrations and mediations, contract negotiations and commercial meetings, regulatory hearings and inspections, due diligence interviews, internal investigations, client consultations with counsel, and notarial appointments. We can also provide interpreting for sworn or certified translation execution where the jurisdiction requires the translator to attest in person.

  • Can Geo Language Services help with tech set up for legal interpreting services?

Yes. For on-site assignments we can supply simultaneous interpreting equipment (booths, transmitters, receivers, headsets) and arrange AV setup with experienced partners. For remote and hybrid proceedings we work with the major conferencing and dedicated remote-interpreting platforms, and can advise on the right setup for the proceeding format and any confidentiality, recording or evidence-handling requirements.

  • What type of interpreting would Geo Language Services recommend for a legal conference?

For most legal conferences with audiences over 20–30 and prepared presentations, simultaneous interpreting with booths and headsets is the standard — it keeps proceedings on schedule and lets delegates listen in their preferred language. For smaller, discussion-led formats (panels, workshops, depositions), consecutive interpreting often works better. We will recommend based on format, audience size, agenda and budget.
