Quality Assurance

Quality isn’t something you check at the end — it’s something you build in.

At Geo Language Services, our quality assurance approach combines expert human review with intelligent, customised tools to ensure your multilingual content is accurate, consistent, culturally appropriate, and fit for purpose.

Whether you’re working with highly regulated content, customer-facing communications, or high-volume multilingual projects, our QA services give you confidence that every word performs as intended.

Total quality management

Geo Language Services was born of a need for high quality language services and this is still our driving force today. Our linguistic quality assurance is grounded in recognised industry standards and best practice, assessing translations against frameworks such as MQM, ISO-based models, or your own bespoke criteria. We separate objective errors from subjective preferences, assign clear severity levels, and provide structured insight that allows you to measure quality consistently, identify recurring issues, define what’s acceptable — and what isn’t — and track performance over time and across languages.

Where local nuance matters, in-country reviews add an extra layer of reassurance, with native-speaking specialists based in the target market reviewing your content in context to ensure it sounds natural, appropriate, and aligned with local expectations.

More than simply flagging issues, our reviewers explain them, giving you a clear understanding of how your message lands with real audiences and helping you improve quality, workflows, and long-term outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which customised tools does Geo Language Services use to ensure quality assurance?

We use the major professional QA platforms (plus integrated QA in our CAT and TMS environments) together with custom checks tailored to client requirements — client-specific terminology, brand vocabulary, do-not-translate lists, regulated phrasing, and any client-defined error categorisation framework (DQF, MQM, or a client schema). Tooling supports human reviewers; it does not replace them.

  • How does Geo Language Services ensure translations are fit for purpose?

Fit for purpose is defined per project. A patient-facing leaflet needs readability validation; a regulator-facing submission needs terminology and regulatory compliance review; a brand campaign needs creative judgement; a software UI needs in-context QA. We agree the fit-for-purpose criteria up front, build the workflow to meet them, and document conformance at delivery.

  • Is Geo Language Services certified in ISO quality management?

Yes. Geo holds ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 17100:2015 for translation services, both of which apply across our practice. We also hold Cyber Essentials certification for the technical controls protecting client content, and operate under GDPR.

  • How does Geo Language Services flag potential issues to the client in order to avoid timely mistakes later?

Proactively, at the earliest stage. Where we spot issues that may affect downstream cost or timing — ambiguous source content, terminology that doesn’t translate, layout that won’t accommodate target-language expansion, regulatory phrasing that may not be acceptable in a target market — we raise them at scoping or kick-off rather than discover them at delivery. Issues are flagged in writing with recommended actions.

  • Can Geo Language Services provide in-country native reviews?

Yes. In-country native review by a third linguist (on top of our ISO 17100 translator and reviser) is available as an add-on for content where target-market acceptance matters — stakeholder-facing publications, brand-led marketing, regulator submissions, sensitive public communications. Reviewer credentials are documented and shared on request.
